Platinum black is a kind of precious metal catalyst, which is made from metal platinum as the main active component， It has the characteristics of small particle size, uniform particle size distribution and high specific surface area. It is commonly used for Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cell (PEMFC), Direct Methanol Fuel Cell (DMFC), Microbial Fuel Cell (MFC), and Phosphoric Acid Fuel Cell. It is also used as a recombination catalyst for hydrogen elimination. Platinum on Vulcan can also be used as a building block for sensor elements.
